Esterbrook (Estherbrook) was founded in 1858 in New Jersey.
It was used by American writers, including successive presidents, and it is also known that it was used by J.F. Kennedy in the 1960s when signing the budget for the Apollo program to send humans to the moon.
As a writing instrument representing good old America from the 1930s to the 60s in the so-called Modern Times era, more than 20 million fountain pens were produced per year in the US and UK.
In 2018, about 50 years after closing that history, you can now hear that name again in New York.
Esther Brook's pen was so integrated into American society that it was nicknamed “Esty (Esty).”
